Agree, I don’t shoot at the same spot inside of 40 yards.

 

Alway hurts when it happens

 

I dont keep them anymore. I hate breaking a good arrow. I had to move to 5 spots to avoid this at 20yards.

i took a pic of the first one, and that's as far as that goes. i don't shoot at the same spot at a distance i think is likely to slap arrows.... the novelty wore off after one.

Only one I keep out is from putting a bare shaft into the hind end of a fletched shaft at 20 yards.

 

I have mine mounted on a wall in my office/bow room. I use three push pins, one at each end and one in the middle to help hold it steady. I know it's expensive, but it is still fun. I shot one in practice the other night actually attempting to shoot at a golf tee at 20 yards. Used some old PS2 Black Eagles that I was planning on retiring this year.

 

I have a jar of blown pin bushings, nock bushings, and their nocks. I start shooting single spots at 40+ and usually bust up a bushing or two per session. I generally shoot 23 series so it's not that hard to hit others. I spend too much time building them to destroy them on purpose. I also like shooting groups at distance, so metal in the back of the arrow works for me.

 

I agree with this, no reason not to shoot pin bushings to protect the shaft

 

Pull out the good arrow, inspect, flex and continue to use if it's OK.

Cut down the blown up arrow depending on how blown out it is, and use it as a garden stake.

 

Save the good arrow, if possible, and toss any damaged arrow in trash at range.

 

I try to salvage an arrow and throw the bad away... Most "robin hoods" aren't perfect shots anyway, they just happen to hit that lucky spot

 

Hang them on deer antlers.

 

I'd keep the first one and then avoid ever doing it again.

 

I put mine on my deer mounts in my living room

 

I saw the coolest thing one time, it was a wooden table that had a glass cover over it and under the glass was all the robin hoods (this was at a shop so they had a lot more than ill ever get)

 

Never had a robin hood. Lol

According to the legend, Robin Hood intended to split the first arrow that was in the center of the target. So, if anyone intentionally splits another arrow that is on the target, they can claim a "robin hood". Otherwise it is simply a lucky shot and if it happens more than once....then, obviously they are not learning from their mistakes...
I saved my first one...(just a lucky shot actually, not intentional).
