Sorry if this is normal, but my Samick Sage (bought new) came with this for a string...what am I supposed to do with this?? I thought it would come with a normal, ready to use string.

Really?

I assume it came from Lancaster? If so, just give them a call. They will do right by you.

I ordered some other stuff from Lancaster that came today too. The bow is from a seller on Amazon. I can't find a contact page for Samick on their website. I just called the Amazon seller and they said they would send me a new string. We'll see...

Usually the string on an inexpensive recurve isn’t that good anyway. Get a fast flight string for it off Amazon and you will like it. Just bought one myself.

Thanks again nuts&bolts! I did order an arrow rest, but I went with one from Bear. I don't know how good it is compared to the Hoyt ones, but I chose it because it was a little cheaper and could be delivered a couple of days sooner. I was trying to have everything I would need to shoot on the same day the bow arrived. That plan backfired, I guess.

I've seen that exact vid on tying the nock points, and I'll probably do it that way the first time, but I don't know what material to use. I could use standard thread, but it seems much too weak and thin. I would like to use something more like what is shown in the video.

I think I've seen like 50 of those NuSensei videos. He is very thorough and explains everything in great detail. I've learned a lot from him
