I have used the boneview reader for my phone off Amazon with very good luck.

 

I bought the $10 HME one from TSC and it worked ok. It would do in a pinch like when I pull a card right before climbing into my stand, but it's nothing like loading the SD card into my PC.

 

I went through the same thing for a while. I'd buy an off brand and it'd work for a while and then I'd start getting "not supported by this device" error messages after a few months. Never had one that'd work for more than a year, if that.
Apple wants you to only buy their high priced products. I believe they do everything they can in software updates to limit non Apple products so they will be "not supported by this device".
Just break down and buy a triple the cost Apple product and be done with it.

Can you view and save like the hunting based readers? Or do you have to download them and then delete?

I use iBrary I got it from Dunham’s. I downloaded the app to use it. So far it’s been good just can’t save videos to my photo section but can save pictures to my photos I can live with it

 

Buy the apple reader for your iPhone and your problems will be solved!!
I was hesitant but after the same problems you are going through it was time to give it a shot. The reader doesn’t require a app👍🏼 Once you plug it in a import button will show up a you can view individually, import all or save the the ones you want plus delete the whole card.

 

I use the Apple, works great.

 

Your problem is the housewife phone. Get an android, its like an iPhone but for men. Then buy a mokcao off of Amazon. I'd had one for 3 years no problems at all

 

I got one from Amazon for about $13. Accidentally ran it through the washer/dryer and it still works

 

got a reader from wall mark several years ago. about $12. just slide card in the reader and wire into the charging port of phone open USB storage then DCIM. pictures will pop up. mine has a wire for new and older phones
