Alright, I am probably going to get strung up for even thinking of it but....
Would any of you shoot a spotted fawn?
Here in ND the season opens Friday, August 31 and fawns will still have their spots for at least 1 week of the season so there is a good chance to shoot one. They would taste great, plus the hide would be really cool to tan!

Even if it is just ONE TIME, do it and then never again. Would you shoot?

No, in fact I went from 1980 till 2006 not even shooting anything antlerless. Not a trophy hunter either but I figured I had taken more than enough Does & yearlings. I did start participating in a "special" doe reduction hunt in 2006 where I am allowed as many does as I have "special" tag for. I have taken 3 in those 5 past years even though I could have taken more. This year, I plan on 1 again but no young ones. I am not one to judge what others do if it's legal.

I do not shoot fawns, but not cause of the spots. If I'm gonna take a deer for meat (and not rack size) I want it be a bigger body deer so I get the most bang for my buck so to speak.

It is illegal to shot a deer with spots in CT. The deer here still have spots and the bucks have velvet still. Generally by september 15th the bucks shed and the faws loose their spots and that is our season opener.

I have shot fawns and will again this year given the chance. I hunt some deer reduction hunts in urban areas and a fawn is the best thing to shoot. an old gran nanny doe has already multiplied exponentially. if you kill the fawn its like killing 100 does in a matter of a few years...
