Hi guys
I've only had my bow since the spring. I have been practicing as much as I can. I am normally pretty consistent up to 30 yards, but 40 and beyond I am usually left or right (mainly left) of the target. Is it harder to shoot the shorter bows like that at longer distances? I am determined to get good at shooting my bow but it is frustrating at times. Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated.
Thanks
Jason

Give us some more info on your setup...what draw weight are you shooting and what are your arrow specifics (length, spine, point weight, vanes)?
What sight are you shooting and does it have a 3rd axis adjustment? What level of tuning have you done (i.e. paper, bareshaft, etc.)

If you are hitting inconsistently left and right it could be your grip...do you wrap your whole hand around the grip? If not how do you grip the bow?
Proper grip is key to hitting consistently at longer distances.

If you are hitting consistently left then it could be you just need to do a little more tuning.
For example if your arrow rest is just a whisker too far left your arrow would hit left at longer distances.
Put an arrow thru paper at about 6 feet and see if you get a clean bullet hole.

And of course it could just be that as a newer shooter you haven't yet developed consistency in your grip, form and shot execution.
Check your grip against what is considered "proper grip" and try to make it exactly the same each shot.
Watch out for too much pressure of the bowstring against your face that will result in lefts and rights.
Keep the bow back with some pressure against the stops and try to execute clean shots.
