Someone gave me a Pearson Pitbull today

Needs a new string... That's it. But I can't find anything on the net about this bow.

How do I know the draw length? Cams have marks but they mean nothing to me. No sticker with serial or string lengths. Looks to be in great shape except for stings. 60x has them for about 55$ so I'll get those soon.

Other help or a manual would be awesome. Thanks!

The string length is 54 3/8". The bus cable length is 33 7/8". The control cable is around 35 1/2" this is the best that I can measure the control cable. You may want to make the control cable 1/8" longer and twist it up just to be sure that it is long enough.

With a #1 module the draw length is 28" when both cams are in the c postion. There are about 4 positions that the module can be moved to a thru d. You must match the bottom and top cam aa, bb, cc, dd. There are timing marks on the cams to match each position.

Get a set of strings from 60x and you will be set.

Thanks Jim. The module says M3, or maybe it was W3. I need a 29" draw length. What cam setting letters correspond to 29"? Can you give me a table? Sometimes I go down to 28.5" depending on the bow.

I don't have any info on the m3 module. I think it is a longer draw module than the #1 module. I can only suggest that you put a new set of strings on and then draw the bow and decide where you will have to adjust the module.

Thanks. I also contacted Pearson customer service. We'll see what happens.

One word of caution. Use very light pressure when tightening screws into the cam. I stripped the threads and had or order another cam. With all the changes I don't know how easy it would be to get another cam.

Tgank Jim. Sorry for the late response. Pearson customer service was no help. Apparently they are under new management and cannot tell me the actual lengths.

I contacted 60xcustomstrings.com who said there were several length combinations with the hurricane cams on pit bull bows. They suggested I pull each string/cable and measure under pressure. They will then match up to one of their combos.

But thank you for measuring yours.

I pulled all the strings/cables off the Pitbull this weekend and my lengths are just about 2/8s longer than yours, likely due to stretch and even some cut strands. I contacted 60x and they confirmed these are close to stock measurements. They have already built a set and shipped them. I should have them installed this weekend.

Then I will report back with some photos. Debating to keep as a backup or sell it.

How many turns can I back out the limb bolts? If I can get it down to about 50# my wife may use it.

Check out this link that I found to an archived post from Archerytalk back in 2007. The Pitbull was only manufactured in 2005 and 2006. Hope this helps. It has the same cams as the Stealth mentioned in that link.
