Looking at picking this sight up for hunting. Can anyone provide any feedback on their experience with this sight. Positive or negative reviews. Thanks

Can't go wrong with Spot Hogg. Family owned company that makes everything here in the USA with a great warranty and customer service if for some crazy reason you need it. They are known for having hands down the most durable and most reliable archery equipment in the industry, and have been known for that for nearly 30 years. I also highly recommend using the MRT rings and spending the time to get your peep and the rings setup properly so you can only barely see the inside yellow ring in bright sunlight. It's one of the best advantages for shooting consistently and accurately in archery sights since the fiber optic and sight level.

I will also ad that the grinder sights do not have 2nd and 3rd axis leveling. But Spot Hogg does take the time from the factory to square the level in the housing in the 2nd and 3rd axis to the mounting surface and the wire. This is something, that to my knowledge, not a single other company in the industry does. So even with a sight like the Grinder, the level will be extremely close, and at the very least, be square to the wire and therefor square to the pins to ensure that you will not have any left/right POI changes as you go out to distance due to the level not being square to the plane that the pins are in. The left/right micro adjust on each individual pin is also nice as many people will see the different colors slightly different. So even if you see the pins differently causing you to miss slightly left or right at one distance, you can adjust for that. Most other sights on the market do not have that ability to micro adjust each pin separately for windage like that and having the wire there, you can easily set the pins to be in a perfectly straight line as well. So overall an excellent sight that doesn't have all the extra axis adjustments, but will still ensure you have the precision and accuracy or many other sights that do have those features.

VERY Solid sight.

You can't go wrong with a SH fixed pin sight, they are as good as it gets.

The only things that one could nit pick are the pins aren't the brightest, I'd definitely get .019 pin size. The other thing is the weight. The SH multi pin heads are heavier than most.

My original Hogg It 5 pin is still my favorite fixed pin sight ever made. The Ginder is very similar.

Don't have a Grinder but it shares components with the Fast Eddie which I have.

I second the .19 pin comment I would for sure go with .19 or even .29... my fast eddie has the .10 pins and they are to small/dim and getting them bright enough with a light washes out the target for me.

I will eventually be sending the sight in to get re pinned.

With all that being said buy with confidence they make great stuff.

I drew on a doe last fall with my Hoyt RX3 with a Grinder on it. I was in an unfamiliar stand: it had a platform 20 feet high with rail around it. I drew bow, shot, and lower limb hit the rail. Bow catapulted out of my hand and flipped about 30 feet away and 20 feet down to the ground. I had to press the bow to put strings back on it, but I did get it back in shooting order. Took it back out to the target and shot a three inch group at forty yards! That’s what you get with Spot Hogg, and especially a grinder: a sight that can get flipped out of your tree stand and is still spot-on accurate.
