Never messed with cell cams. How does the device work? As in how much cell signal would have to be in the area where they’re at for them to send pics properly

 

Just needs 1 bar. I have a Reveal and a Spypoint micro LTE. I think tactacam just put spypoint out if business.......way better....

I wish they were Black flash. The deer seem to be looking at the camera in a lot of the pictures.

 

yeah I only use No flash or black flash ..after bad experiences with other cams

What is the megapixel that is being sent from the camera to the APP? does it actually send the highest quality pics to the app or is it only on the SD card ?

Only complaint so far is the delay in app notification you receive. Supposed to be a fix out this week they say. Camera will take the pic and you won't receive notification for several minutes after.

 

Can you use these and change settings without buying a data plan? In other words, just in certain months when you only want to use the app you pay for just those months. I wouldn't want to pay for the plan during the winter when the camera is in my basement or when I don't want to use the app.

Can this camera send pictures to a desktop through email? I'm on a prepaid cell plan & have an old flip phone.

 

I just received a reply from Tactacam stating that as long as you have a device (tablet, laptop) that can download the Tactacam App the camera will send the pictures through wifi.

How is the battery life? Takes awesome pictures!

 

I have mine in the back yard until I can get to my farm and our dog sets it off a lot. Battery life seems pretty good so far. I have alkaline batteries in it just to test and I actually pulled the batteries out of a trail camera that's had them in it for a year now and put them in my reveal and it hasn't dropped yet. Lol.

The only thing I can find that Tactacam missed is a way to lock the door shut. You can lock the cam to the tree with a cable lock, but someone could open the camera, take your card, or whatever they want to do.
