I recently took mine off on my EVL 34. It doesn't go anywhere in-hand when I shoot, and I don't hunt, so I don't see any need for one.

It's nice to be able to just grab it right off the rack each time without having to thread my hand through, and there is nothing touching my wrist. Just feels nice.
Would love to be standing there when your D-Lope breaks to watch you chase your bow down the lanes trying to catch it. $1K bow should be worth $5.00 wrist sling. Been shooting for over 60 years & have seen it happen to many times!

Yes please. It makes keeping the bow from dropping one less thing to think about.

What are the benefits of a wrist sling? I don't shoot with one currently but was wondering the reasoning for needing one in a 3D/Hunting situation. I get the obvious benefits of not dropping your bow but that has never been an issue for me with my thumb release. I have had the bow slip with a hinge but currently I am a thumber shooter so why would I ever need one?
If you don't use a wrist sling on your bow then you're actually holding/grabbing your bow when you shoot which in turn will often cause inconsistent grip or torquing.

Instead of using the excuse of "well I haven't dropped my bows so why do I need it"… just put the sling on there in case you do. It's supposed to be loose enough to not interfere with your grip, wrist angle. clothing etc...

So the question again is, is there a single paracord sling that mounts behind my front stab?
, there are literally thousands of them, a simple Yahoo search or eBay search will find anything that you want

Bow-mounted wrist slings always would either apply too much pressure and control the grip for me, or not enough pressure and risk dropping the bow.

When I started shooting recurve more, I picked up one of these. It felt awkward at first, I adjusted it to the right size, and got used to it within a few shooting sessions. Now I won't go without it, recurve OR compound. My bow-mounted wrist slings are now gone.

This cheap little sling does a fantastic job of holding the bow WITHOUT controlling my grip IMO. You wear the loop like a bracelet, then the hook end wraps around the bow and then hooks back onto the bracelet loop end. If you can find a hook, they are stupid simple to make with a little bit of paracord.

The sling is not supposed to fit like a belt. There is no way it can interfere with your grip whatsoever, it just basically drapes over your hand... You may feel it simply because it's there but there shouldn't be any pressure to it.

And if you don't like a wrist swing, try a finger sling, You can literally make them out of a shoelace

I used to not use one until I had a release break it was a Scott little goose release the head broke at full draw and the bow landed on the bottom cam as it flew out of my hand now it the first thing I put on my bow
Shooting my recurve.
At the range one day working on both release and keeping a loose bow hand grip, Had a perfect shot when everything just came together... drilled the X, and the bow flew out of my hand and slammed onto the floor...lol, I had a finger sling later that afternoon.

It's not a matter of if but when the bow flies out of your hand

You need a sling. If you don’t then you are not gripping the bow correctly and the bow can’t reacted the they way is needs to after the shot. Grip is one of the main issues with tuning a bow. You have to get grip, dl, and form correct in order for consistency when tuning a bow. Tie d-loop cord through a hole on the riser if you don’t want a wrist sling.

Modern bows don’t have much to any forward jump, so it’s mainly out of habit now. If it loosens your grip then it’s worth it

It doesn't do a whole lot most of the time, but it's a mental thing to have it on. The sling allows me follow through properly and not grab the riser prematurely.

There is literally no scenario where my bow would leave my hand. My bow does not lurch forward at all during a shot, and I don't shoot open handled - I have two fingers against the grip still. And while I haven't had a d-loop break, similarly, I did have a release explode, and again, the bow went nowhere.

I had been shooting archery for at least 20 years....mostly recurves....never dropped one. I won an auction for a "static tip" recurve bow during a charity fund raiser that finally arrived about 14 months later. Excitedly unboxed it and got it set up to do some test shooting. It was winter and in west MI that means really cold and snowy, so I was downstairs shooting at 11 yards across the basement. First shot this bow LEAPS out of my hands and hits the concrete floor.....o_O:oops::poop:

Just in case you think it could NEVER happen to you.....like Sonny related ....until it does. For $11 I can get a Bling Sling from Marcy on ebay delievered to my door that matches the color of my bow and has prevented that from happening again. Worth it???

Correct. A sling should be loose enough to slip in and out of without thought.

You never know when the day will come....And it isn't just dropping the bow. How about stalking and snag some brush?

Cams aren't made of real tough material. A slight drop and it's all over.........
