I dont know these folks or have any affiliation. Like most on here....I have been in the "L" column, including with a 3yr quest and 7yo buck this past season.

While I have done my best to only buy tags and needed gear, i succumbed to the TrackNTrail bloodtracking app after seeing a magazine ad and still feeling the pain from the loss above. Think it was like $20 and on my iphone 14. This was about 2-3months ago and forgot about it. Middle age random memory brought it into consideration after i had dispatched a porch raiding raccoon this am in some 8" tall grass on the edge of the yard. It was daylight, i turned the app on and zoomed n from 20-30ft away. The screen was covered in these "animated" little red circles but in the center was solid red and where the vermin laid. I was blown away. Highly recommended and driving ethical hunting all the further. Shocked how good it works and plan to test it with any more opps i can come up with including some dated blood with a roadkill or the likes.

No idea of the technology involved, but my first question would be how well it does on a much longer blood trail that is several hours old? Most of the experienced bowhunters have had a mix of really short 'drop in sight' results and much longer 'pull your hair out' trailing tasks. The later are the ones such an app would be beneficial.

That would be great for us color blind hunters, depending how good it works.

Most frustrating thing is you arrow an animal, and cannot find blood, call your buddies and they walk up and exclaim, "look at all this blood splattered every where."

Hopefully others will chime in who have used it to give a thumbs up or down

Been there done that.
Over the years I’ve tried string trackers, peroxide, blood lights, colorblind glasses, dogs and a thermal monocular all with various degrees of success.
For $30 a year trying this app is a no brainer for me.

I'd heard about this but didn't know it was available yet. Very intriguing.

I don't know exactly how it works except that it uses some of the camera sensors to pick out blood. I'm curious if it'll work on older/dry blood as well as it did on fresh.

I watched Tim Wells’ video on this yesterday. It looks pretty awesome. I’ve got pretty good vision but still find myself on my hands and knees with my nose in the leaves looking for specks of blood sometimes. This app could potentially speed up the recovery process a bit if nothing else. I’d appreciate that when it’s dark and cold and I have work in the morning lol.

I’m red/green color blind. 72 yrs young and have hunted all my life so finding blood has always been a frustrating endeavor unless it’s larger amounts of fresh blood on rocks, logs etc. Then some of my buddies show up and say here’s blood and here’s blood and I’m down on my knees trying to see the blood they are easily finding. One of my buddies can follow pin head spots of blood every 10 feet at a trot. He’s amazing. I just saw this app advertised a few days ago and will definitely try it out this hunting season.

The guy who made the app also made all of the bloodtracking light tech

I tried some very dried blood here....and it found it better than i did but i wouldnt say it was miraculous. There are two settings- one notes everything to finite detail and its chaos for spray locations, etc (where you shouldnt need it). The other is great for those big like bedded deer spots but not as good for little trickle stuff.

Wondering about bright red wet maple leaves.....tbd

$29 is a bargain in the tracking category because if its needed three ten dollar bills arent a thought at that point....

I tried it today. Picks up anything red including red leaves, red apples, a piece of watermelon my grandson dropped, my wife's red garden flowers, anything even remotely red. I think in this area of the north east where the fall woods are a carpet of red leaves it would be distracting while trying to pick up actual blood.

Is the app like Hunt Stand or OnX where you can drop pins for scouting, stand locations and have the ability to trace your path?

Well, i just downloaded the app on my Iphone 16 and used the 5min evaluation option. I cut my forearm two days ago working on the damn lawnmower. it is only slightly evident today, with a small scab on it. I scanned the camera over it and Immediately got a "blood detected" notice. I think it is gonna be legit. I havent paid for it yet, but since i have it DL'd , seems like i can just subscribe in the woods if i need to at some point.
