What treestand bow holder are you guys using for the V3X? I prefer the holder versus a hanger. Thanks for the help.

Third Hand Archery is pretty much the standard when it comes to a bow holder attached to a treestand. It can be installed in a wide variety of locations and is very secure. Below is a photo of my Cougar Claw climber with the Third Hand bow holder on the platform as well as Jim's stabilizer straps.

Lone wolf custom gear makes one called the side kick that folds in when walking so it doesn’t get caught up.
Genesis 3D also just came out with a pivoting bow holder.
That is the only issue I ever had with my third hand, when attached to the platform of the stand it stuck out to far and would catch small branches/brush. I moved it to the seat of my hangon because of this, but then could never flip up the seat when standing because my bow was attached to the seat.

Genesis bow holder! Lol not one review. Wonder who and how it was tested. Yes it does pivot, but I darn sure wouldn’t trust my bow in it. The way it’s shown there is very little leverage used to bury the limb in the coating to keep it from sliding out if bumped. Oh wait a minute, there is no coating on it. The bow is supposed to stay in place resting on 6061 aluminum. Doubt seriously that the public could climb with their bow attached. only $72 ea.

Then their version of our Hip Clip. Uses the D loop to keep the bow from sliding especially when climbing trees and Tac events. Yea right. Good luck. Hope they have plenty liability insurance.(n)

I live out in the middle of no where so when I got V series I had that issue with my holder that's probably 25 years old or more. I didn't think about it until the day before the hunt.......caught me off guard. Mine was just bolts screwed into a base so I went to the local hardware store and got longer bolts and covered them with that plastic grip stuff for wrench handles I had lying around. I like the smaller lighter ones.........but I like fixing things too......

I use the Thirdhand bow holder on my climber - I even climb with my bow in the holder ( bow holder turned so bow string is horizonal) , once up the bow holder is turned so the bow is upright and tilting forward.
I had tried a bunch of other bow holders that were too wobbly for me to feel comfortable to use - I was always worried that it was possible to bump the bow off, may be a little paranoid - I had friends who used those bow holders at the time.
In my experience the Thirdman bow holder is much better than any other I have seen and is in league of its own.
It is an example of a simple, well made product that works extremally well at a very reasonable price.

Jeff: it appears to be shrink tubing that isn’t thick enough to grip the bow. The Third Hand bowholder uses an 1/8” coating so the bow sinks into the coating to keep it from coming out sideways. The aluminum rods are less than 3/8” in diameter which will be somewhat springy. We use 3/8” steel which is much sturdier and less springy to hold the bow better. The only way the bow will stay is in a position that is darn near straight up and down, which means very little leverage to keep the bow in place. When the bow is in that position, just a little bump can cause it to fall out.
Did you notice the one screw to hold the correct angle? That too isn’t going to provide much grip. That is why we use 3 screws to clamp the S hook. The only thing that bow holder does that the Third Hand bow holder doesn’t do is fold out of the way. At $72 each I wonder how many they will sell. We sell 4 for $66.😉

I've grown tired of hauling by big bow hanger up and down the tree and having to screw it it and then out every time I climb into the stand so I just ordered two of the Third Hand Archery tree stand bow holders. I've been eyeballing them for a while and to date, I haven't read one negative review on them so I made my purchase with confidence.
