Tru Ball Sweet Spot II opinions?

I tried the Tru Ball Sweet Spot II yesterday at a local shop and really liked it. Anyone have any opinion on this release or if there are similar ones I should look at before buying?
I currently use a fletch hunter for both hunting and 5 spot and done pretty well with it. As alot of shooters, I have developed some target panic. Not too bad as I'm still able to shoot 300's from time to time using the comand style of shooting. Every once in awhile I have some triggering issues.
I tried the Carter Evolution plus, but didn't like the anchor point and couldn't get used to it. I tried the choclate lite thumb release, but also didn't like it. I did buy a Carter Backstrap which was easier to shoot, but I never got anywhere near confidant enough to shoot a league score with it. It seemed that as I push pulled, I wouldn't be able to stay on target and would get low and left arrows alot. I didn't completly give these releases my full attention either.
Anyway, the Sweet Spot felt pretty good and I was hitting x's right away so I think I'd like to give it a try. The rolling of my wrist seemed more comfortable. Any idea's or help?
Thanks,
Shane

Love mine!!!

I have been using both the 4 finger straight and the 4 findger ergenomic handles for about a year and love both of them. I've noticed over the years that a lot of the first place finishers at the Worlds use them also. That is what encouraged me to try one. My second shot out of one I shot a chair at the club indoor range when I had prepared to make the shot and disengaged the safety. I forgot to put the safety back on when I let down and the shot went off and drilled the 'X' ring in the back of one of the chairs. That demonstrated to me what a surprise release is all about.

I have a Tru Ball Short n Sweet S2 and like it alot. Great for d-loops. Have tried many and this one is a keeper and don't see a ready to change.

Awesome release that is for sure.

I've shot them for the last couple of years and did real well with them. I have since changed to the ST360, but I still have a Sweet Spot II in the bag for the just in case moments. It is a GREAT release. If you are wanting to try a hinge style back tension, that IS THE way to go .

I love my fletchunter, cant' beat it for a great release. I too suffer from target panic and have shot the sweet spot and love it too. I go back and forth between them. I shot back tension all last year and I have gone back to my fletchunter this year. Hoping I can do better.

I have a 4 finger. Its a great release. I flip back and forth between a couple of releases depending on how I'm shooting.

Well, I bought it today. The sweet spot II 3 ultra. I'm shooting it pretty well and it seems very smooth. I'm not expecting to shoot a league score for awhile, but I'm going to start working with it. I paid more from the pro shop ($159) than I could of bought it over the net, but I got some help and was able to try it out. Thanks again for the responses.

The release seems to be working pretty good for me, but I have one question. I'm using a string loop and when I anchor the back of my hand to my face, I noticed the release is twisting the loop approximatly 45 degrees. Doesn't seem to be causing any issues and I was wondering if there is any promblem with this. I guess that's what the loop is for. Idea's?

Just make sure that the loop doesn't pinch the nock of the arrow and you'll be fine. That's the way I always shot mine.

I like them. Actually got a Sweet Spot Ultra 4 coming anyday. Really like the Ultra 3 and the Sweet Spot 4 spot as well!!

one concern

just be careful guys. the SweetSpot 2 is my favorite release but many of them have a problem with the set screw turning(usually in) on it's own. i have recieved a few:set1_punch: to the face as a result. now i have to check it on every shot. it can turn a lot even just having it in your pocket.i am not the only one with this problem. a guy on here discovered his doing it just before leaving for Vegas:eek:. truBall recommends blue LocTite

I just purchased a 3 finger and absolutely love it. I cannot say enough about it. It is my first BT and shot it maybe 30 times. I already have 2 busted nocks because of it and if I didn't have a uni-bushing I would have a robinhood. Good luck with your release.

Thanks for the idea about the blue locktite as well!

Question! I have this release as well and when i come to full draw i too notice my d loop turns. My issue, is i feel like my hand is being pulled out of vertical. I have seen you can put a string loop on the release itself and hook a this string loop to your d-loop. make sense? anyone do this? if so what string material do you use and what knot?

Your statement in bold is all that matters. If you enjoy shooting it, you'll practice more. The more you practice, the better you'll get.

I purchased my first one to beat target panic, thinking I would eventually go back to a trigger. Never did. I hunt exclusively with a Sweet Spot II and have taken deer, antelope, turkeys, rabbits, etc with no worries. One guy mentioned the safety spooking game, you learn how to ease the safety off quietly.
