TRX 38 G2 - Cam timing, ATA length problems

I threw my TRX 38 G2 on the drawboard to find out my bottom cam timing was way off. I fixed this with a few twists in the cable. It is only a few months old so I assume the factory strings have stretched a little.

Initially this bow drew at 63lbs when new using a LCA hand held scale. It was currently at 58lbs and the ATA was measuring 5mm-6mm over 38 inches. I also noted the strings did not go through the cam timing marks by a long way. I also couldn't get any clearance with my string stop.

I added more and more twists and now my ATA is just 2mm long and the string stop has clearance but now my poundage is measuring 65lbs. It is a 60lb bow. The strings are still a fair way off the cam timing marks but each string looks the same. I removed a twist to get it to 63lbs, like it was before.

Should I untwist the cables to return to 60lb and forget getting the ATA down to 38 inches? Should I be concerned that my strings do not pass through the cam timing holes on the cams?

Should I be doing something else?

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks for that table @Rockwell , I hadn't had a chance to read it yet.

Seems like twisting my strings will help me out. I shot the bow today and it feels like the draw length is long too.

@Brown Hornet this is my first foray into tuning my bows beyond moving my rest and I'm enjoying the learning. I think my bottom cam moved so much because I had to replace just the 1 cable as my peep was rubbing on it. Unfortunately I bought a set of factory strings to fix it. I still have a new cable and string in the box.

I've been trying to work out why I can't match my very first indoor score from 12 months ago despite shooting all the time. Hopefully these changes do the trick.

Ugh. Twisted my string and got it in the cam timing holes. ATA is spot on. Draw length feels good. Poundage is spot on 60 and now my string stop is very lightly touching and i can't move further away.

Hopefully it shoots OK tomorrow.

More twists in the cable and I get clearance but my timing marks are out and my DL is long.

Maybe it's time to let a shop have a go with new strings.

How was your peep rubbing on one of your cables, I just can't seem to grasp how that could happen? Personally I would have replaced both cables at the same time, just to have equal stretching that is going to occur with the factory cables. Need to get the timing set with cable stops touching the cables at the same time when you have it on your draw board at full draw. And since it is a new cable, I'd shoot the bow a couple hundred times and then check it on your draw board for timing.

You could also sand your string stop rod just a touch if need be to provide a little bit of wiggle room.

That cable was replaced months ago. I bought a full set of strings but as the bow was only a month old they recommended just replacing the single cable. I didn't know any better.

It's a specialty archery pxs peep. Its a bit big. On firing it would rub against the side of the cable in front of it. They served that portion of the new cable and it's been fine since. Apparently that is a common problem.

Cam timing is good now, both stops touch at the same time. I found a few posts where people have taken a small amount off the stop rod so I might give that a shot.
