Hi Folks,

When I look at a bow's specs, if it says draw weight 60lb, and LIMB BOLT TURNS: 10 . What does this mean? what is the range of the draw weight adjustment? I can simply use an allen wrench to adjust the draw weight?

Thank you

Most bows do not require 10 turns to yield a 10# reduction in draw weight. Be sure to consult the manual or contact the bow maker if you have questions that entail bow and user safety. A bow scale would be a worthwhile investment so you can turn it down one full turn and assess the difference in weight from that change.

My PSE EVO EVL 34 allows for a full 10 turns on the limb bolts. About 71# when fully tightened to about 51# when 10 turns out.

I have always got by fine with just an Allen wrench in the past but they must have forgotten to lube the limb bolts on my new bow as I actually bent my Allen wrench trying to tighten the limb bolts.

I lubed the bolts up with some Anti Seize grease and then purchased a 3/8" drive socket to 7/32" hex wrench and use a socket wrench now. Much better leverage.

Agree - Check manufacturers specs as many bows do not have 10 turns available and you do not want to blow up your bow by loosening too much.
