Hi, can anyone make some good recommendations (from personal experience) for a youth target compound. I have my 11 year old daughter shooting a Diamond Razor Edge right now and she is starting to out-shoot the bows capability. I am going to upgrade her to a drop away rest from a whisker biscuit which I believe will help due to the poundage that she shoots and the impact of the whisker biscuit. Ideally, I'd like to scour the web for a used bow but would like to narrow my search as to brand/model before searching the vast depths of the inter-webs.

A good choice for your daughter next step up would be a PSE fever. My 12 yr. Old granddaughter is shooting one now that she moved up from a Bear Apprentice series bow.
And fyi, there is nothing wrong with the WB, either on a youth bow or an adult bow.

It really depends how "serious" your daughter is about archery. To go up from her current bow, you'll need to spend some $$$. (unless you can find something used) At her age, unless she's really strong, she might struggle with the mass and DW of an adult sized bow. My 13 year old daughter is still shooting her Fever because she really struggled with a turned down Supra. (more so with the 4.5# mass than the 32# DW) She is a typical size kid for her age and is very athletic and strong for her size....

No offense to merlinron, I believe the Mission bow will be an upgrade from the Diamond but (IMHO) not enough to warrant the purchase.

OP, with a screen name of "pse ss" I assume you'd be ok staying with that brand.... I'd say to take a look at the Phenom SD. They sell for pretty cheap on the used market and would meet her/your needs quite well. If you have a local shop, take her in and see what they have.

no offense taken !,....I just mentioned the mission bow because the ones my daughter got were the first of that kind of bow I ever saw and I was really impressed with the adjustability and performance. I am an old guy and more used to the adjustability of adult size bows, there were no bows like these as I grew up shooting. these bows will fit literally anyone of any size and have full use-ability while doing it !. when she first got them, my thoughts were that they can't possibly work as good as people claim they do,...but they really do !. she got both bows used, so cost was not an issue as far as what she got for what she spent. both were a great deal !. i'd have to look into what these little bows go for new and the differences between them,...as you said, the price of an upgrade from one brand to another, might not be worth it.

Yes the diamond infinate edgevisva nice starter bow.
Especially for the youth.
And yes for adults starting out.
My with also shot the Diamond Infinate Edge after initially starting with the Bear Apprentice II.
She liked the edge better for her as it had more mass.
Shot that for a couple years and then Upgraded to a PSE Bowmadness 32, and absolutely loves that bow.
In Op's situation he may be limited with his 11 year old more so because of draw lenght 1st. , poundage 2nd?

Actually rethinking my suggestion of the fever over the razor as in it also has the plastic draw module s /draw stops.
An upgrade and a bow that would most likely feel better are bows with a more solid string stop with aluminum draw adjustable mods.

I would look into a Hoyt Klash. Unlike other companies. This youth bow is not a completely different design. The Hoyt Klash is just like a smaller adult bow. Pretty much a smaller powermax. I took my boy to shoot every youth bow we could find and we chose the Klash. It’s the real deal bow

I bought my daughter a Mission Switch. She's a 24" DL and pulling 31#'s. I went with the Switch due to the adjustability (23# to 70# and 1/2 DL adjustments) and the longer axel to axel length than the Mission Craze (newer model Hammer and Radik). The Switch is about $100 more than the Hammer.

Just my two cents.
