Just a tip that Bass Pro and Cabelas will price match many online and brick and mortar stores including Amazon "as long its sold by Amazon and not a 3rd party" I would rather buy from Bass Pro and Cabelas than many other retailer I know they take some heat on this site but they truly are a company who invests in promotion the outdoors and conservation. I often hear people complain of their prices and at times I agree but typically will take the few extra minutes to stop in or give them a call and get a price match. I just ordered a garmin device and saved $50 dollars today.

I believe it may have been the other way around and you talked to the wrong person. "see policy below" I just did this and they pushed back initially on the item because it technically was sold by a third party on amazon but after explaining I really prefer to buy from them and order a silly amount of items but can't justify an extra 50 dollars just for charity they said they would approve it.

I ain’t going to argue with them over it, if they don’t want to price match I will buy else where. No skin off my back, it’s just I have gift cards and wanted to use them. But I will find something else or I will give the cards away to others as gifts and they can use them. If they don’t want my business I am not going to go out of my way and give it to them, I am perfectly happy not buying from them.

I somewhat agree but I do go out of my way they are one of the last big forces in retail that promotes the outdoors and recreation. I also support local guys when it makes sense to me it was worth the extra 15 minutes today to give my 300 dollars today to Cabelas vs Amazon. I agree sometimes you do encounter disgruntled or unskilled / trained big box employees but the company as a whole is a good company I know senior management all the way up to johnny to a lesser degree and they are really good people.

Bows & arrows & sometimes broad heads and targets come from my local archery shop. Usually broad heads & targets & misc. items come from ebay or Amazon if I know what I want. Otherwise if I want to browse around looking at everything from meat slicers to crappie jigs, I hit up a Bass Pro/Cabelas. While I slow poke around my wife shops for clothes (a pretty decent ladies selection) & my kid looks at fish in the aquarium. I don't mind buying from them even if I do pay full retail.

I purchase from Bass Pro when I can even when the price is a bit more but close .

Don't get me wrong when the price is a big difference I'll order on line if shipping is included in the lesser price .

I do prefer looking at and testing or putting the product in my hands prior to a purchase ..to me this is worth an extra 7-12% in co$t .......call me old school,

but Last year I purchased 2ea Real BLOCK targets for $129 on line .....can't remember the vendor but at bass pro they were about $90 each on Sale .... that's the difference I'm talking about .

I did purchase 3ea shooter bucks fro BP for only $55 each [emoji106]

I believe this is a relatively new addition

Some have not heard how many times Both Cabela's and Bass Pro has dropped many things like their Lifetime warranty of their brand name products like Boots, clothing, game cameras etc! I was at a Cabelas a few years ago when a guy came in with a pair of Cabela's hunting boots that were about wore out and asked for a new pair and they said they no longer offer that, the same with Cabela's Game Cameras that was to have the "lifetime" warranty and someone had an issue with his and they said he could get a discount but not a "new" one... I would not purchase anything from either as most of their brand name products are made in China and low quality and They Change Items way to Often, when you find a decent item like Gloves you go back or try and order them online and it has been discontinued and you cannot find anything as good or better unless you are paying 3 times the price! Appears some have forgot about all this. I had a lot of bass pro points and every time I would visit their local store they never had the ammo I use. after 5 trips in 2 Years I found it at Jays on my way to my hunting Property and Jay's always had that Ammo. So I gave up and when They opted to change their Points system I lost my points. But spend your $ with either I can find most everything I am looking for other brands for less and online for much less $. So I save $ and get the same item! Not sure either if they still have the 90 day return and refund policy they once had. A friend would try out new products like game cameras and if he did not like it he would return it for a full refund within the 90 days usually 40 days.
Why they lost a lot of Customers and now that it is just Bass Pro with the Cabela's name as some like myself had bad experiences with Bass Pro some won't give them any of their hard earned Money!
Sad but true...

They do alot of good for promoting conservation and the outdoors millions to conservation organizations every year, advocacy for gun rights, youth education etc etc. Something to think about. just because they may have changed in an ever changing lower margin retail world to survive. I will still support them over the amazons.

If i have to research a lower price, ive done the work for the company... so I wont buy it from them. It also shows their intent to try and take me to the cleaners if I wasnt astute enough to figure it out on my own.

Historically, BPS has always been so much more expensive, that I dont even think about them. Id rather but from a smaller mom and pop shop.

Screw Johnny Morris, if you knew the crap he is doing rite now to his employees most would agree. I use to buy a lot of stuff from cabelas, not since he took it over. He has a power issue. Support your local shops!!!

I'm sorry but I disagree I know the Morris family and several years back worked in management at the corporate HQ and yes they have cut wages and some staff but in today's retail world its an unfortunate reality. I have personally watched John become tearful when having to make the decision to lay large numbers of folks off. To be candid John is aware of those decisions but he is not the one making them as he is such a generous guy the business would likely not survive if those decisions were left up to John and he is smart enough to understand that and let others make those decisions. John does not even have a computer in his office he creates the vision but has smart people that figure out how to actually pull those wild ideas off John isn't sitting in his office running the numbers or making hiring and firing decisions outside of a very close inner circle.

John wants nothing more than to see the tradition of hunting fishing and the outdoors live on long after him. He is not one of the bad guys I promise.

I if anyone should be somewhat salty I was one of the people let go now this was years ago prior to the Cabelas buyout. It was more a mutual separations I worked in a part of HR that just wasn't aligned with where the business needed to be financially prior to buying cabelas. I had slightly different personal and business aspirations at the time and had other opportunities that I was able to transition to relatively quickly. Despite our somewhat checkered past I can call a spade a spade and tell you with confidence BP is a good company with a good family that owns them who care about what we all care about.

I know they recently changes their price match policy to price match brick and mortar stores. I've used it to buy my CZ P10C that Buds had for a much lower price. It doesn't matter if it's a store in a different state either. It just needs to be the same item and must be in stock.

They would have to price match for me to be interested. I bought a bow from cables around 10 years ago, I was a newbie and didn't know any better. It was supposedly tuned and ready to go. Wrong. I can go in there and find a gun that I like, and go to my local shop and usually beat the price by at least $100, most likely $200 depending on what it is. Scopes and ammo seem to be the same way. I do my business local or order off of the internet if my local business can't get anywhere in the ball park.

Wonder how long they will be in business? I bought a ton of stuff from them in the 90's when I started traveling to hunt and started guiding. They were a top notch company , today I will not buy anything from them or even go to there stores . The problems they are having today they brought on themselves .

Outside of the current debacle they are still doing fine somewhat over extending with the Cabelas buy out but the stores are still profitable. For those who have never been or not since the opening of Wonders of Wildlife I highly encourage a trip to the HQ in springfield. Even if you buy nothing the experience is pretty cool they did a good job. Spend a day touring Wonders of wildlife and aquarium then head to the NRA museum and Archery Hall of fame.

I heard the buyout didn't cover existing warranties...lost me right there. Rarely does the local BP have what I'm looking for. Like most brick and mortar retail, new inventory won't show until products people didn't want is picked through and all but a remote possibility of it being sold remains.

Say what you want about amazon, they do things right. For that I reward them with my business. Their warranty is even better than Cabela's was when they first hit the Country and I don't even have to make a days drive to get there.
