I like to wrap the front legs around the head and tie and then run the rope to a stick for a handle and drag with two guys when possible. This helps keep the fron legs from hanging up. How do you do it?

Grab a leg or horn and pull here in wv there is only one way to drag them...downhill, so pulling hard isn't an issue most of the time, you just keep going down till you get to a place where you can get a truck or 4wheeler to it and if you do have to drag uphill it usually involves a few buddies or a winch and a long rope lol

If I am hunting private property I will use a 4 wheeler on public I use my Cabalas super mag game cart. They both beat dragging the deer out of the woods.

i have a drag rope that is maybe 10 years old with a cross the chest strap. i tei a loop in it about half way down so i can put my hand in it to help me. i tei the front feet and the head and drag for my life.

last year i bought a 2 wheel cart man my life got much better. i haul my gear to the woods park my cart about 100 yards away from my stand hunt load up the deer tie my gear on the deer off i go. the only way to hunt now

the ideal way is pulling you 4 wheel up and push the gas.

I usually just call one of my sons that is hunting close by, and have them pull it out for me.God knows how many
deer I guttted and pulled out for them, when they were just starting out. I actually saw a guy pulling one out once by the
hind legs, and when I asked him why he didn't pull it out by the horns, he replied " he ain't goin that way"1

I stopped dragging Deer last year. I decided to just Quarter them up where they drop and pack the meat out in a Framepack and put the meat in a 100 QT. Cooler then ice the meat down. I'm getting to old to be Dragging a Deer 1/4-1 mile out of the woods by myself.

I quarter mine out in the field too. Take a pair of latex gloves and a few trash bags, skin out the quarters and the back straps and leave the carcass for the foxes. Only takes ten minutes or so, and beats the hell out of dragging all that way. A head lamp and a frame pack help out a lot too.

Use a four wheeler during gun season though.

The easiest way available at the time. Sometimes it's by hand alone, that sucks. Sometimes I call a friend and I don't have to drag it an inch, that's the best way. That's why it's a good idea for your buddies to know where your stands are. One phone call last year and I was just carrying my pack out :)

Im old fashioned....and poor lol...i gut em in the woods, and carry em out on my shoulders...in the process of building a deer cart though...had a 4 wheeler i used to use,but motor blew 2 years ago and just havent had the cash to replace it or the motor..thank god most of my spots are only 200-300 yds from my truck, even these lil whities get heavy after 100 feet

something i used to do back home that made it super easy is while wearing a full body safety harness to wrap the part that goes around the tree around the neck or antlers of the deer, and drag it out that way..it worked out pretty slick..obviously its a lil harder walking w/ that resistance, but its alot easier than grabbin a leg or horn and pullin like that
