I have a birthday coming up in about a week. I was asked by the wife what I want. I have always been interested in the Ozonic system. I have read mixed reviews about them.
How many of you guys use ozone generators in the field and what's your thoughts about them? I am looking at the HR300 system. I hunt mainly from tree stands and sit on the ground occasionally.
Any recommendations or advice is appreciated.
THANKS

I used one for years until the Scent Crusher bag was released. I like what the bag does and I now have one less thing I have to put in my already heavy back pack. To me proper showering and descenting my clothes after every hunt has been the ticket. I plug the bag into my vehicle on the way to the woods and run them through a 30 minute cycle. Takes me almost an hour to get to the property.

I bought one last year. Used it exactly as instructed for treestand use and got busted many times by deer. To me is was not only a PIA to lug around but absolutely didn’t not work for where I was hunting. I sold it and moved on. I personally wouldn’t recommend it. I’ve read other guys love em. Maybe in a ground blind they work better. Idk. Just my experience

i believe they work... its very simple good technology.
If i was hunting in ground blind tent or box blind on private land i would have one.

But does it work well enough to make it worth the long walk into the woods with all the other stuff......? no.... i.m.o.

I think about it this way in a tree stand setup: how likely is it that a small stream of ozone will mix with and eliminate a much larger stream of body scent in the 20 yards it takes to travel to the deer? Not likely in my opinion. But if you want to waste your money, i got some snake oil for sale.

I am no chemist but I just smelled my pits and I can assure you if I don't work the wind I will get busted every time. I can't even imagine how bad my breath smells to them....

Thanks guys and gals for the advice. Well I decided to hold off on the Ozonics system. I plan on doing a lot of traveling this hunting season. I was set on getting the HR300. But I'm still not convinced it really helps.
I decided on getting the Powerstop Z36 ceramic brake pads and rotors for my F150 EcoBoost. That will be what the wife is Ordering today for my birthday. I found them for $448. My truck is gonna need brakes sooner or later so I'm gonna go ahead and change them before hunting season.
Maybe I will still get the Ozonic system once I convince myself I need one and wanna add more stuff to carry to the stand. Time will tell.

I have witnessed a high capacity ozone generator set downstream of an activated charcoal filter being used to attempt to neutralize pet odors from a room. It didn't work well at all, we smelled the odors with the generator both on and off, a little less with it on but may have been because we irritated our noses from the ozone. Mind you that this was in all contained in a 10" duct being blown outside. The ozone worked OK when run alone in the sealed room for an hour but you can't do that with animals inside...makes me pretty skeptical of it's effective use outdoors uncontained.

Opinions are like belly buttons, everyone has one. I'd really like to see the results of a SCIENTIFIC test proving-or disproving-their efficacy. Merely saying they work without qualifying how it was determined-esp how one knew that the scent actually got to the target deer-is just another belly button, IMBBO.

I will add that 'real life' experience says that multiple deer will react differently to human scent. There's a cool video from The Big Buck Serial Killer showing him dropping milkweed silk in his airstream and drifting it into a buck, actually hitting the animal with the silk and therefore knowing it got his full scent. That deer fed and bedded down right there around 35 yds away in his afterwork scent with no alarm at all. I am not advocating that you can ignore the wind but results like that make any 'scientific evidence' even more questionable because animals can behave differently from one another under various circumstances. I know that I have been wind busted by deer 150 yds away and the same week had a nice buck follow my tracks upwind right up to me.
